Question from peter russell: Asked on 10/05/2007 I see that your contributor "confused!!" asks the difference between the S/W and the N/W models. But I've also seen listed an M/W and an F/W model. Are there any significant differences between them and are all versions still available?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 11/05/2007
availablility changes on a daily basis, but as long as stock is not showing 2-7 days then it is available immediately. The only differences are in the internal components (CPU, RAM etc), and the Operating System.

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 03/05/2007
No, you cant upgrade the graphics card in a laptop, you would need a machine that comes with dedicated graphics (not integrated / shared). Why not give our sales line a call? They will find you the best machine to suit your requirements.

Question from stillsearching: Asked on 27/04/2007 Which is best: Sony or HP? I notice the Sony's do not have the direct play function for CDs/DVDs. Had an Acer but DVD drive broke. Toshiba's seem too expensive for what you get. A sales chappie in Comet recommended Sony whilst another in a competitor recommended HP!! Thanks

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 30/04/2007
Sony's look the best, but HP and Lenovo are very reliable. We'd also recommend Asus and Samsung.

Question from jonny: Asked on 23/04/2007 I am interested in this model and one that you also sold (now sold out/discontinued) the sony n11s. Could you explain why this newer model N21 is so much cheaper than the older N11s (here and other retailers)

Question from muso-on-the-move: Asked on 14/04/2007 Two questions, please:
1 - is it possible to install a MIDI interface on this PC; if so what would the extra cost be?; and
2 - would the soundcard meet the specifications required to run CuBase?
Thanks

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 17/04/2007
Its not possible to install a midi interface into the notebook so you would have to use an external interface perhaps a USB midisport. The sound card will meet the basic specification requirement for Cubase.

Football manager should run, but most games require a powerful graphics card and would not run well, if at all, on this one.

Question from Caleb: Asked on 09/04/2007 Does this product support the new feature of Vista, such as the Windows Aero Interface?

Question from Gareth: Asked on 05/04/2007 Is it possible to get this laptop downgraded to Windows XP instead of Vista?

No, it is pre-installed with Vista. If you have a separate copy of XP you could put that on there yourself, or even use a dual boot system and have both.

Question from Joe: Asked on 05/04/2007 Would this laptop work for video editing and photo editing? Are the shared graphics going to work for editing or do i need something more powerfull

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 05/04/2007
Photo editing will be fine, video editing should be fine as well but performance would probably be lower than it would with a dedicated graphics card. It is more the Games and 3D stuff that requires powerful graphics. Thanks.

Question from serious buyer: Asked on 29/03/2007 hi
can u please explain me what is the difference in shared, integrated and dedicated graphic card?
regards

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 29/03/2007
Shared and integrated are the same thing, The motherboard chipset uses system RAM to process the graphics. Dedicated graphics is a seperate chip (nVidia or ATI) which uses its own memory and is much more powerful than integrated graphics. This is what you need to play most current generation games, older games may be able to run with integrated graphics. Hope that helps :)

Question from James: Asked on 19/03/2007 how old is this model

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 19/03/2007
The Vaio N2 is currently the latest generation of the N series, which means it hasn't been around very long at all. This particular one first appeared on our site at the end of January and has since been reduced by £60!
