26/11/2008 tina: hi. i,m interested in buying this product for my 13yr for christmas, will be suitable for school studies, and can you use a memory stick? Thank you
SteveF: This Netbook is great for surfing the web, downloading music and using basic office applications and was originally designed with children in mind so should be fine and yes, it has a USB port so you can use a memory stick with it no problem.
17/11/2008 ella: as msn is not compatible , is there any other divice like it??
David J: Linux comes with a messenger service called Pidgin, this will allow you to sign into messenger services such as MSn and Yahoo.
17/11/2008 ellie: is it possible to connect this laptop to aol 9.0 as i am thinking of going wireless?

11/11/2008 des: will this notebook play movies stored on usb memory stick
david s: yes providing you have the correct codecs in the program you are using this will do this
06/11/2008 Jonathan: Does this notebook include a carry case please?
thanks
Matt: Yes, well... more like a slip case I think.
02/11/2008 Karen: I have just brought 2 of this product, can I run them from my sky broadband?
Matt: Yes.
31/10/2008 Alan: What software is available for the eeepc and how do you load it on without a disc drive?
Matt: You could use an external drive or a shared network drive if the software is on disc, however a lot of Linux software is open source stuff that you would download.
31/10/2008 Tony C: I have seen it stated that the Linux OS is compatable with Win XP. Does this mean that programs which run under XP will also run under Linux or does this only apply to MS Office?
Matt: Linux is an alternative to Windows XP, the programs for one will only run on another if they say so. Microsoft software will not run on Linux.
28/10/2008 Len van den Berg: I am seriously interested in this device. My partner has an earlier version of this one (4GB HD) with a Battery life of 3+ hrs.
I do not see that this can operate on a Battery. Is this feature not available on this make/model?
SteveF: This model of the EEEPC comes with the same battery as earlier models.
14/10/2008 marty: I'm looking for a 3rd pc/laptop/netbook for home use only for somebody who will only be surfing, emailing and using skype, so this seems ideal. Would they be able to use this at home, wirelessly with my current modem/router. Bit confused because not sure how I would install it/connect to it.
SteveF: You'd connect it the same way you would any other laptop. Once turned on it will do it automatically.
14/10/2008 Nick: Does it have an external disc drive. Im looking for a computer to put my promotion study discs on.I want something small light and compact that i can carry about what do u recommend

14/10/2008 dave: hello dose this laptop have a cd drive thank you
SteveF: No it doesn't.
13/10/2008 nikki: are you able to put windows xp on?

15/09/2008 james: im looking for a laptop to surf the web, send and receive emails, store pics and music and play football manager. will this laptop allow me to do these?
Easycom: It will be able to all but play football manager. Its not really cut out for games.
21/05/2008 Adrian: What DC voltage and current is produced by the ac adaptor. I am seeking a notebook that will take a 12v DC supply.
Easycom: I dont know the answer to this one sorry, but I would recommend visiting the eeeuser forums.
17/05/2008 Keith Altman: Is the Linux operating system compatible with Microsoft Office so that a Word document can be opened if it is sent as an email attachment? Also will the Linux word document if sent by email be openable in Microsoft word?
Easycom: It does use standard formats which are cross compatible with Windows.
08/05/2008 samwel: How much memory can this take, and also is there an official release date and price for the intel atom processor version as i would like to know if it is worth waiting for the better processor. thanks
Easycom: The atom-cored EEE PC will be released at the end of June this year, although as with all EEE PCs we are expecting very high demand for them. The EEE PC has only one slot and has 1024mb as standard - I suspect this may be the maximum amount it can take.
