If you’re upgrading from a Windows 8.1 / 8 / 7 device you can keep your windows settings, personal files and most apps. If you’re upgrading from Vista then you’ll need to perform a ‘clean’ install which means losing all files and settings. In either case we recommend saving all of your important data to secure storage.
Windows advise that you allow up to an hour for the upgrade to be complete.
