The Intel B360 chipset of the Gigabyte B360M D2V motherboard is ideal for use with -8000 series Coffee Lake CPUs. The chipset natively supports ultra fast NVMe SSDs and Intel Optane over the M.2 slot which is connected via PCIe. This socket 1151 motherboard with the B360 chipset would make for a fantastic foundation for a budget gaming PC and computer for the home office.
The M.2 slot is connected via four PCIe 3.0 lanes and supports the NVMe protocol and, in combination with a compatible M.2 SSD, this enables a transfer rate of almost 4 GB/s. That is roughly eight times faster than an SSD connected via SATA 6G! Additional drives like SSDs, HDDs and optical drives can be connected using six SATA 3.0 ports. Up to 32 GB of RAM can be installed in two DDR4-DIMM slots at 2.666 MHz.
The I/O panel of the Gigabyte B360M D2V comes with four USB 3.0 ports. Additional peripherals can be connected using two USB 2.0 ports.
One DVI- and D-Sub port are available for display output from the processor's integrated GPU. For output from the onboard sound, the motherboard provides three 3,5 mm outputs. In terms of internal connectivity, a TPM-, COM- port, Power LED-, speaker header, two fan connectors, two USB 2.0- and a USB 3.0 header are available.
