After the ACX 3.0 cooler vas verified to operate within spec on Power and Memory section from independent third party testing, EVGA determined that on an enthusiast graphics card, one thermal sensor just wasn't enough. On an enthusiast graphics card, equal importance should be given to the Power and Memory, not just focused on the GPU. This type of thinking required a drastic change in the way thermal management is performed on a graphics card.
EFFICIENT GRAPHICS CARD COOLING WITH ASYNCHRONUS FANS
Make use of a new way of cooling your card through EVGA's technologies, reducing fan noise and improving cooling efficiency. The GPU fan is determined by the temperature of the GPU (left fan) while the Power/Memory fan is determined by the power/memory temperature (right fan). This means they can work separately of each other minimizing power needed and maximizing their efficiency.
Plus, the cooling system performance can be read with a single galnce at the iCX card. Users can customize the RGB colour and visual alarm sttings to their preference.
THERMAL DISPLAY SYSTEM
When using your EVGA GTX 1080Ti SC2 you can set 3 seperate LEDs on the top of the card to alert you as to what the temperature the card is currently at allowing you to use the card and know the temperature at a glance.

Baseplate & Backplate
All vital components inside the GPU make direct contact with these stylish and protective components, helping with such things as heat dissipation and structure rigidity. The Baseplate also has interlaced Pin Fins to help further its efforts.
