Question from Tina: Asked on 13/05/2008 If the graphics are shared & dedicated in theory is this better for games than buying a laptop that has integrated graphics card.

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 13/05/2008
The best gaming laptops are those that have dedicated gaming GPUs such as ATi and nVidia chipsets with dedicated video memory. Integrated graphics chipsets are poor at 3D games.

Question from Grant: Asked on 27/03/2008 are the graphics shared or dedicated.

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 28/03/2008
HyperMemory is a system from ATi where a certain amount of memory is on-board and dedicated for the video card, and the rest is 'borrowed' from the system memory when extra video memory is needed - So in essence, the graphics is both shared and dedicated - The total amount available to the graphics card is 512MB.
