The tech specifications state that the manufacturer of the card is Intel,NVIDIA. How is the card made by 2 different companies? I'm led to believe that NVIDIA graphics cards are some of the best available, but don't want to consider buying a laptop which may not provide the quality I'm looking for when the card may be more akin to a standard Intel graphics card.

This laptop has a NVidia GeForce GT 610M 1GB dedicated graphics card with Optimus. Optimus means that when the dedicated graphics is not needed it's turn it off reverting to Intel shared graphics thus saving battery life. This is a good graphics card capable of playing all the latest games that support Direct X 11.
