You can , but in all honesty it is not easy , unless you are familiar with Linux then I would suggest going with a model which has a windows based operating system.

Microsoft office has to be purchased separately for net books which comes on an activation key card for £79.97. All net books only come with a 60 day trial.

You will struggle as this netbook as Linux so most aren't compatible.

This laptop is very suitable as it has Linux Linpus. Linux is very much an icon based operating system and is very quick. Ideal for online surfing , checking emails , Facebook , etc. This netbook however is not suitable for downloading games, movies , applications etc due to it's platform.

Pretty much the full 8GB is free when using Linux on these netbooks as its so efficient. You can use SD cards or any memory unit which connects via usb.

You just need to install xp over the top of linux and yes you can put microsoft office on there although it already has the linux version which is called open office.

Even if you wanted to run a windows system it would never be optimal, that is why the other model comes with more disk space and 1gb of RAM (and windows by default). Unless you want to run win98, don't think XP will run on this unless you are keen on waiting
