Question from chrisg: Asked on 14/10/2011 im thinking of buying a medion akoya lapptop - is this range acceptable to the insurer ?

Answer from Paul: Answered on 15/10/2011
This warranty can't be bought on it's own and don't sell the laptop in your email.

Question from Nate6290: Asked on 15/08/2011 1). If I purchase the laptop now, can I purchase the extended warranty later? 2). Does the manufacturers and extended warranty cover parts, service and support?

Answer from Paul: Answered on 16/08/2011
AXA warranties can only be bought at the time of the sale of the computer. All the manfacturers warranties can be bought within a year of purchase accept the Acer warranty with accidental damage. These can be found on our site.

Question from Dathan: Asked on 10/07/2011 So the warranty is valid for other Eu countries ? , i mean if the product in question has damage or mechanical fault , i will have to pay for sending it to you in the uk and back to me right ?
Or warranty is only availible to uk customers only inc the extended also ?

Answer from Paul: Answered on 11/07/2011
Uk warranty only

Question from Abbas: Asked on 01/07/2011 If I have software issues, screen issues and hardware/softwares issues.....does this warranty cover that?

Answer from Paul: Answered on 02/07/2011
Yes, but wouldn't cover viruses or software you install on the computer yourself.

Question from Karen: Asked on 16/05/2011 3 questions:
1. My daughter will be living in Halls of Residence at Uni - will her laptop be covered there (i.e. not at the address at the time of purchase).
2. Am I right in thinking that the policy only covers repairs up to the cost of the laptop? (So that if there are several repairs done, the policy "runs out"?)
3. Are laptops repaired on site, or do we have to send them off?

Answer from paul: Answered on 16/05/2011
The warrantie relates to the product not the user so getting it repaired will not be a issue where ever your daughter is in the UK. It is a collect and return warranty so you ring a number they will attempt to sort this fault out over the phone, if they can't they will send a courier to collect and return the laptop at no cost to the customer. If the laptop is deemed beyond repair they will replace it with a like for like model. Any repair will also have a 6 month garantee.

Question from mike: Asked on 13/05/2011 given that the product already comes with 1 years manufacturers warranty the 3 years extended warranty surely starts after the manufacturers warranty ends? otherwise this is only a 2 year warranty. right or wrong?

Answer from vicki: Answered on 14/05/2011
This warranty extends the total warranty period to 3 years. In the first 12 months you have the option to use this warranty or the manufaturer's own

Question from AlanC: Asked on 06/11/2009 Does this Warranty extension apply to any Netbook as well as Laptops ?

Answer from Tom: Answered on 06/11/2009
Yes it does.

Question from Luke: Asked on 11/06/2009 if your comany goes out of business or the insurer goes out of business, what happend to the policy?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 12/06/2009
If, and this is a bit if as we have been trading for 8 years and are having one of our strongest years so far, we go bust then the policy would be upheld by the underwriter Fortis and if Fortis went under we would support the warranty. So both companies would need to go bust before it would effect your policy.

Question from ratmbells: Asked on 09/05/2009 What does the warranty cover? Does it include Accidental Damage or Theft?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 11/05/2009
No, this policy covers mechanical and electronical breakdown.

Question from muj: Asked on 22/04/2009 when can u exactly make a claim when taking out the policy how many months to be precise exactly 3years or 3months to ur policy ends?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 23/04/2009
The policy is registered and then takes effect, you have three years and can claim anytime within the three years.

Question from Peter S: Asked on 21/03/2009 Does this policy only cover laptops bought from 'Laptops Direct' or can you take out this policy to cover a laptop which you're buying from somewhere else? thanks

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 23/03/2009
The warranty needs to be taken out when the laptop is bought.

Question from Rayc: Asked on 22/08/2008 Reading the product summary and terms and conditions seems confusing as it refers to collection and return as well as engineer visits. Exactly what is the service provided and the service level agreement turn round times?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 22/08/2008
If you are unable to receive a engineer on site, then you many arrange a collect and return service. Turnaround is usually within 24 hours for on site.
