Hi, the optical drive on this laptop, (and all others) does both reading and writing.

Question from Els: Asked on 22/01/2015 Does this have a matte screen? I've see anti-glare mentioned vaguely by a reader but can see nothing on the specs. Plus I don't know if anti-glare is as non-reflective as matte. My primary need in a laptop is to avoid reflections at all cost - so it is critical I understand if this is truly matte or whether it is just somewhat less prone to reflection than a glossy screen. Where can I find written evidence if it is matte?

No, this laptop will be anti-glare, but not fully matte. It is very hard to find matte screened laptops. Samsung were the only ones who consistently had the feature on their professional range, but that series appears to have finished as well.
