Easycom: This is a similar specification to the LX.AGW0X.169 the only difference is this machine has a bigger hard drive capacity.

Easycom: The LX.AN60X.041 does have a turbocache and does have draft N compatibility.

Easycom: No it doesn't, none of the 5920 range have integrated Bluetooth however it can be added using a USB adapter.

23-Nov-2007 Robin: I'm confused. On the Acer website the Hi model is shown as LX.AN60X.001 (without draftN) and the Hn model is shown as the LX.AN60X.041 (with draftN). So are you sure this is the Hi and do any of the 5920 models now have the GeForce 8600M GT graphics card?

Easycom: The LX.AN60X.041 model does have draft N wireless, unfortunately none of the 5920 models have Geforce 8600M GT graphics.

If I ordered it with Microsoft Office Professional pre-installed would the end-user license agreement entitle me to install Office Professional 2007 on my desktop PC as well? 28-Nov-2007 harrovian: Hiya, I has decided to purchase the gemstone LX.AKV0X.108 model at the beginning of Nov but had to wait for Payday at end of month! just returned to purchase & i notice the spec has changed & the graphics card is now onboard. Now in limbo again. been contemplating the LX.AN60X.001 but its slightly over my budget SOo need a machine with dedicated graphics for my Sims addiction!!! what would you recommend now? would the LX.AKV0X.108 still suffice???? cheers

Easycom: The LX.AKV0X.108 should be ok with the sims even with the integrated graphics card. If you are specifically looking for something with a dedicated graphics card why not have a look at the ASUS F3 series product codes F3SC-AP115C and F3SR-AP074C

27-Nov-2007 Grant: Hi! (1) From what I can make out, only difference between LX.AN60X.001 and LX.AN60X.041 is that it has Draft N and the other does not. All other specs are identical, not so? (2) Is Acer planning on releasing a 5920 model with 8600M GT graphics, instead of GS any time soon? (3) Including the 256mb dedicated, what is the max memory that can be allocated to GS graphics card, 1Gb? (4) Is a 0.3 m/p webcam, worth much, as far as quality is concerned? (5)Is it possible, for the laptop hdd to come as 1 partition, instead of 2? (6) Is it possible for the full version OS (Vista), software drivers and Office setup files to be copied onto the hdd, instead of just having the restore disks? (7) Are there any in stock and if not how long will it take to order 1? Please, could you get back to me as soon as possible! Thanks for your time!

Easycom: 1 The only difference is the draft N wireless connectivity. 2 There isn't anything on the cards as of yet as to a release with this graphics card. 3 Apart from the 256MB it has the 1GB of turbo cache memory. 4 As far as quality is concerned this will be fine for gerneral internet use eg MSN. 5 Unfortunatley it seems to come with the 2 partitions as standard. 6 The restore data including the operating system is on a hidden partition on the hard drive. 7 The LX.AN60X.041 is currently out of stock however will be backl in stock within the next few days. Easycom: 8 Upgrades are significantly more difficult on laptops than desktops, the graphics cannot be upgradedas are connected to the motherboard. 9 Please call us to discuss memory upgrades. 10 Yes - the draft N will be fine. 11 You will be able to change the settings through the operating system 12 Unfortunately there isn't any technical information regarding this at present. 13 It comes with a 1 year manufacturers warranty, we do offer extended warranties and insurance options. 14 I do belive you can do this as virtual memory. 15 Unfortunately not.

Easycom: A combined headphone/lineout socket allows you to connect your headphones/external speakers/devices using a 3.5mm jack. This has an s-video out that could be used to connect to a television or home cinema system.

15-Dec-2007 Sanjay: This particular laptop ships with Windows Vista. Two questions : 1. Do you supply Windows Vista install CD/DVD? 2. If I want to downgrade, do you provide Windows XP drivers?

Easycom: Windows will be on a partition on the hard drive, so you can restore to factory settings. We do not provide any XP drivers, however you could download any drivers required.

9-Jan-2008 Paul B: I shall be buying either the Acer Aspire 5920G-302G25Hi Laptop - LX.AN60X.041 or the Acer Aspire 7720G-302G32Hi Laptop - LX.ALN0X.248. My question is which is the better for my needs I am mighty impressed with both to tell you the truth and have been reading all the views for pointers being a first time buyer. I shall be mostly surfing the net and general emails, though my main other purpose shall be transfering home videos with the use of a camcorder, though both have firewire for this purpose one has a larger screen though the other a better graphics card and wireless 'N' which i am not sure off its use, so also appreciate that info also, one also has a larger hardrive, and one a HDMI port, so what would you do as I am so confussed. many thanks for your advice in advance

Easycom: Hi Paul, there isnt really much difference between them, if you'll be doing any gaming then the better graphics card would be worth considering, otherwise not important. Wireless 'n' is in draft form at the moment, when it becomes more widespread in the future it will offer faster wireless network speeds. With a HDMI port you would be able to connect it up to a HD ready TV and play proper HD movies through the laptop's drive.

4-Mar-2008 Pancakes: Hi, what exactly is the reason for the £130 price diff between this and the 5920g (h), is it just that the (H) has draft N? If so, what exactly is Daft N, and what is its advantage over the Lower Cost Acer, thanks.

Easycom: 802.11n is a much faster wireless standard over the previous 802.11b/g.

2-Apr-2008 Jamie: I have to replace my current laptop (Win XP, 2GHz T2500, 2 GB RAM, ATI radeaon mobility x1600 graphics card, 100 GB HDD, DVD RW). I am looking for something new that beats these specifications. I have been drawn to the 5920G and the 7720G. I want to play games as well as watch films and use the usual array of home office products. Which of these machines should I go for? Is ACER a good make with high build quality? Do I need to purchase an additional warranty?

Easycom: I recommend the 5920G as it has the better graphics card for gaming. This acer is a great quality product and you will not be disappointed. It ships with a standard 1 year warranty and it's entirely for your own peace of mind whether you should buy an extended warranty or not.

5-Apr-2008 Shaun B: I bought this model 1 week ago and it is fantastic its replaced my desktop and is working better. My desktop was built to a high spec and this laptop does everything my desktop did and more, its albe to keep up with myself multitasking which my desktop was starting to struggle with. Working in IT Acers were a cheaper computer to start with, now owning one i can see it works 10 times better then any leading brands and are able to keep up with the most demanding user. This is my first Acer (as a home user) but not my last, i will be buying more as and when they needed. Highly recommended

My question is how do I know if my laptop has Vista Home installed as it says as it did not come in addition to the laptop as shown in a green coloured box Vista Home package. Am I missing something here, I am a first time buyer and also new to laptops. I do hope you can help

Easycom: Hi Paul Vista is preinstalled on this machine you only need to let it run coz when you start your laptop first time it takes some time to configure. Once this process hs finished then you will be able to connect to internet. cheers

Easycom: You would need a new power lead with a japanese plug on the end, or a travel adapter. the AC adapter should be able to cope with whatever voltage they use.

29-Jun-2008 Jeff: The Integrated Camera only has a Sensor Resolution of 0.3 Megapixels. I guess this is this sufficient for video communication using Skype Standard video calling which offers a resolution of up to 320X240 pixels (QVGA) at 15 frames per second (fps). But is it sufficient for their High Quality Video, which offers improved quality, transmitting video at 640x480 pixels (VGA) at up to 30 fps?

Easycom: The CrystalEye camera is a 640x480 camera (simply multiply 640 by 480 for the pixel res) - It does capture at 30fps max, so should be fine.

11-Apr-2008 Misha: I bought this product after missing out on the Aspire 5863WLMi and wasn`t disapointed. It has everything i need in a laptop and has replaced my 3 year old laptop (1.5Ghz) well. My only gripe with it is Vista!! but that`s a small gripe and found that i can live it (after so many years of XP) Like others this is my 1st ever Acer product and would recommend this laptop and the company to anyone,they provided a 1st rate product and a 1st rate level of service. Many thanks. Just a small tip to buyers :- if you see something you like @ the right specs for what you need don`t dwell on it to long,this is how i missed out on the Aspire 5863WLMi @ 2Ghz just lucky for me i ended up with something better :)
