Easycom: Your laptop takes DDR memory, not DDR2. We sell DDR memory in 256MB modules ( product code NMEM/256/DDR/2700 ). If your laptop has a spare slot for another 256mb module, then you should buy one of these and install it alongside your existing module.

Easycom: Yes, you would need two of these to upgrade to 2GB, this would replace the 2x512MB modules that it comes with.

Easycom: There is no problem with memory at a different speed to the FSB. The numbers correspond to the speed of the memory.

SteveF: You will need to check if your laptop has DDR1 or DDR2 ram in it. If it DDR2 then this will be fine, if not then give our sales team a call and they'll find some that will work.

SteveF: You would need 2 x 1 GB of DDR2 Ram. The ram is generally located in a slot under a screw cover on the underside of the laptop, which means to change it, you just need to slip the old chip out and put the new chip in. But if you have any doubts, seek advice from someone more technical or call Lenovo.

SteveF: I'd need to know the maximum ram of the laptop. Laptops usually come with two slots for ram so I can't see there being any problems, but I'd give Acer a call to check on the ram configuration.

18-Sep-2009 chris: I have a Acer Aspire 5612WLMI with 1 GB of RAM- it is going fairly slow now- I see it can be upgraded to 4GB, or would it be better to buy 2 x 1GB and just have total of 3GB- It looks like it has a free port but not sure if it has 2 (in addition to current 2 ports each with 512MB in) or do the 512MB need to be replaced? Also do you ship to New Zealand?

SteveK: You'll need to speak to our sales team, this machine will run with up to 4 Mb of RAM, 2 x 2gb. With postage on top, it is probably worth getting 4GB for the sake a few extra bucks. Best thing to do is call our sales line. You'll find the international number on our site. Don't worry they don't bite.

simon: This memory is the correct RAM however you would need more than 1GB to run Windows 7. We do 2GB modules too NMEM/2GB/DDR2/5300.
