The TOXIC Radeon R9 270X Graphics Card from Sapphire is a computer graphics card that includes Windows drivers, and can be installed in desktop computers with PCI Express expansion slots. It can be used for graphics-intensive gaming as well as other applications that require or benefit from having a dedicated graphics card.
The card features an 1100 MHz GPU that can be overclocked (boosted) up to 1150 MHz with the help of the included TriXX Utility software. For applications that support parallel processing, 1280 stream processors allow the card to perform hundreds of computations at once. To move data to and from the GPU as efficiently as possible, the card features 2GB of 1.5 GHz GDDR5 RAM with an effective (QDR) clock speed of 6 GHz, as well as a 256-bit memory interface.
The TOXIC Radeon R9 270X can be connected to a variety of display types, including computer monitors, HDTVs, projectors, 4K and 3D displays. It features an HDMI port, a DisplayPort port with DP 1.2 support, a dual-link DVI-I (digital and analogue) port, and a dual-link DVI-D (digital only) port. With this card, you can connect up to three displays concurrently, and through HDMI and DisplayPort it can drive displays with up to 4K (4096 x 2160) resolution.
Stereoscopic 3D Support
Thanks to AMD HD3D you can view 3D content from Blu-ray DVDs, video games, 3D graphics software, and other 3D applications when using the card in conjunction with compatible active or passive 3D displays
Popular API Support
Supports DirectX 11.2, OpenGL 4.3, AMD Stream Processing, AMD App Acceleration, and other APIs to allow compatible software to benefit from GPU acceleration, taking much of the workload off your computer's CPU
CrossFireX Multiple GPU Support
Combine two compatible GPUs to extend your total processing power using a CrossFire Bridge Interconnect cable
Enhanced Unified Video Decoder 3 (UVD 3)
Offloads much of the processing involved in decoding Blu-ray DVDs from the CPU to the Radeon R9 270X Graphics Card to help your computer run cooler and quieter
Image Processing Features
Applies anti-aliasing and other image enhancement filters designed to render smoother, more natural looking graphics. These include:
Tri-X Cooling Technology
A multi-heatpipe cooler with triple fans designed to keep the card operating at a safe temperature even when overclocked. Fan speeds adjust to provide quieter operation under normal usage, bumping up to provide increased cooling during taxing operations
TriXX Utility
Utility software allowing you to tweak the card's settings to achieve optimal performance in whatever application you choose to use it with
AMD PowerPlay Power Management Technology
Automatically regulates GPU power consumption, reducing the card's power consumption to close to nothing whenever possible, and shutting down any additional graphics cards added via CrossFireX when not needed
Dual Firmware Support
The card ships configured for systems using legacy BIOS by default; for newer systems with UEFI, a button on the surface of the card enables UEFI support, allowing you to take advantage of features exposed by UEFI firmware, including Windows 8 Secure Boot and faster wake-from-sleep and boot-up times
Quad Data Rate (QDR) GDDR5 RAM
Because GDDR5 RAM can transfer up to four words per cycle, as opposed to one word per cycle with traditional RAM, the effective data rate is quadrupled, allowing this card to process data transactions as quickly as if it had a 6 GHz memory clock speed
PCI Express 3.0 x16 Support
Provides twice the bandwidth of PCI Express 2.0; for example, an x8 PCI Express 3.0 slot has the same bandwidth as an x16 PCI 2.0 slot. In addition, the card remains backward-compatible with motherboards using earlier generations of PCI Express
