If your're looking for something with a bit more punch on the spec front the Acer Aspire 5536 is a fantastic choice, and another machine that our warehouse boys are sick of seeing go out! Its a cracking spec for less than £420, with a fast AMD Athlon X2 QL-64 2.1GHz chip, massive 3GB RAM and tonnes of storage in the form of a 500GB Hard Drive. Even at this price you don`t have to sacrifice style, the blue lid and shiny 15.6" screen make for a really sleek looking bit of kit!

Intel`s new ULV chips are on the rise, look out for these if you need something light and portable, with a battery life that allows you to work all day. You don`t have to pay in excess of a grand just yet. There`s a number of ranges on the market from all the big manufacturers. Acer offer their Timeline Range, boasting battery life in excess of 9 hours, and Lenovo's U350 Range start from £399.97 for a 13.3" machine. Even netbooks are in on the battery life act, Samsung`s latest 2 ranges the N130 and N140 offer batteries that will last 5 hours and 10 hours respectively, as well as having a cracking spec and a really neat looking chassis. That`s a full day`s work!

Similarly If you want something that`s small and portable the Acer Aspire 751 is a good choice, at £429 its got a 11.6" screen, a great compromise between usability and weight. And with a 7 hour battery life you can keep going all day without taking your charger. Think of the possibilities....
