GRADE A1 - As new
Sick of carrying your cumbersome laptop around with you? Don’t you wish it was easier?
With the Asus Eee PC it is. At only 1.3Kg this is an ultra-portable model ideal for those on the move.
Just because it’s small doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful. With an Intel Atom processor, a 8GB Solid State Drive this model is more than capable when it comes to keeping up to date on the move.
So, if it’s a mobile laptop you’re after, or even just a second laptop for browsing the web Asus Eee PC 900A is an ideal choice.
Please note: this laptop comes with a 3 Months warranty held with Laptops Direct

Question from Big Ben: Asked on 25/09/2010 The Asus EEE PC Wikipedia page says that the 900A is supplied with Xandros Linux, like other EEE models. Xandros is OK, but we prefer either Puppy Linux (Light and fast), SliTaz (very small and fast, but needs more experience), or Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Netbook Edition (fast enough for us, very easy and fully featured). All are free to download.
You can double the SSD capacity in ten seconds for about £10 using an SD card - 8GB is good. These are more convenient than USB sticks which stick out too far and can get damaged, especially with younger users!
In our experience XP is not a great idea, unless you never want to surf the web or use email. TinyXP is compact and runs fast enough, but don't even think of connecting to the internet without a proper firewall, AntiVirus, AntiMalware etc, etc. You will then find it runs a *lot* slower! XP also gets gradually slower every day you use it, but our SuSE Linux 10.x installation is still running full speed after 5 years. ymmv!
