It would fine for Internet and Office use. To give you a idea of storage on 40GB of hard drive you can hold 700 albums worth of music, this laptop has a 160GB of hard drive. The touch screen would work permantantly when the laptop is on.

Laptops \ Netbooks don't have seriel ports. They all have VGA ports this is used for connecting exsternal screens or projectors not seriel ports.

It a netbook so has a relativly basic spec such as a atom processor, 1GB of RAM and no optical drive. It designed for basic office and internet use or a 2nd laptop. It's very portable so good the travelling.

I assume she has a netbook with Linux? if so MSN messenger and other programs are incompatible. The product you are looking at is also a netbook due to it having a Microsoft operating system you will not run into the same issues. Bear in mind Netbooks don't have cd/dvd drives but we do sell USB drives and they are not as quick as a full sized laptop. They are aimed at internet and office use with good portability. They will not play 3D games or be suitable for graphics. Just basic use.

Has a Intel shared graphics card. We don't offer a service for changing hard drives. The hard drive it self can be easily replaced but then you would need copy of the operating system to load on to it which would cause a problem as no such disk comes with the laptop as the operating system is pre-installed.

Up to 5 hours depending on usage. I Tunes and Messenger are free downloads are easily installed on the laptop. I haven't heard of any issues with the touch screen, this technolgy is extremly good these days.
