Ultra portable laptops are perfect for student life. Their small lightweight design means they can be carried around in your bag for use in lectures, the library.. in fact anywhere you like. Netbook’s were designed with this in mind which is why they’re so popular, the only downside is they don’t have a DVD Drive but you can buy an external one here. Due to their ultra thin and lightweight design the laptops and netbooks in this section will be less powerful and not suited to gaming or intense graphical work

• Ultra Thin – 1” thin chassis. Thinner than an A4 pad
• Long Battery Life – 4 hours or more. This is vital to working on the move

What to watch out for

• No DVD Drive – removed to save weight and space. You can use a USB memory stick or purchase an external DVD drive
• Small Keyboards – the smaller 7” screen size netbooks will have a smaller keyboard which may not be ideal for some, look out for full sized keyboards on the larger screen laptops and netbooks
