I see that the spec says that this has a Super Bright Gloss screen I wondered if you can any feedback on this regarding reflections interfering with seeing the screen. I currently have a laptop with a gloss screen and with bright light it suffers a lot from reflections. The rest of the spec looks great. Any feedback gratefully received.

I would imagine that if one laptop with a gloss screen bothers you then they all will, as they are all basically the same type of design. If, however, some are going to be better than others, I expect that Sumsung screens would be right up there with the best, due to their excellent TVs and Monitors.

The hard drive speeds can effect how quickly data is retrieved and therefore how quickly the processor works. Most laptops come with 5400 RPM which is more than adequate for most peoples needs.

You can buy fire wire connectors which fit into the card slot on the laptop which should solve the problem.

Should be fine, this is a powerful laptop and it covers all the bases when it comes to spec although I'd check with Oracle to make sure there is nothing extra it needs to run smoothly.

It is a good graphics card but for running top spec on games you really need at least 256mb of dedicated graphics.

Could I buy 2GB Laptop Memory PC2-5300 - NMEM/2GB/DDR2/5300 and would you replace the 1GB memory in the laptop with it?
So basically upgrade the 1gb ram to the 2gb to make 4gb of ram?

Question from Reyn: Asked on 16/08/2008 Hi, this laptop mentions it has a HDMI port for connecting to a HD TV. What worries me is that it doesn't mention HD output (eg. playback of Blu-ray films, etc) Any idea if the HDMI Port actually provides a 'full HD' function.

The HDMI port will allow you to use a flat screen TV as a monitor with resolution of 1440 x 900. There is no blue ray optical drive on the machine so no blue ray playback.
