It is a fully featured, USB-powered, 8x slim DVD writer. It is a perfect solution for those users who are looking for a compact, stylish and portable DVD writer.¤¤Mobility is an important aspect of the eSAU208. The drive can be powered through a USB connection instead of a traditional power adapter, so the mobile user does not longer needs to rely on a power socket to operate the DVD writer. The drive will consume its power directly from the notebook trough the USB cable.¤¤For some notebooks where lower energy consumption is required, the eSAU208 provides a "power saving mode". Writing and reading speeds will be reduced by 40-60%, depending on the media format, in order to operate smoothly on these specific low powered notebooks.

  • 20x DVD Write Speed
  • SmartWrite and SmartBurn for optimum writing to disc
  • USB 2.0

Question from Aly J: Asked on 15/09/2009 I have an Acer Aspire 5610Z and it will no longer detect the cd drive therefore I am no longer able to install software read data or play music cds however the dvd is detectable and working ok. I have tried everything to resolve this but to no avail. My last resort is to buy another .

I'm worried as to how I will install the product.

Answer from david s: Answered on 15/09/2009
hooking up an external drive will resolve your issues and you shouldn't have to install anything as the drivers should be already in windows dependant on your version of windows. if not u will be able to get them online
Answer from SteveK: Answered on 15/09/2009
Yes you will have a problem, however you can get most drivers via the Web, so it will work that way. Or you could copy this to a USB device. I hope that helps.
