Easycom: Yes, it basically turns your laptop or any computer into a TV, which runs over the top of everything else, or you can minimise or run it in a window. You can also pause, record, and replay live TV so in some ways its better than a standard TV!

Easycom: Unfortunately there was an error in the 5685's data sheet, which we apologise for. This TV Tuner is excellent though, and will work with the 5685. Thanks.

Easycom: We have some ready to be dispatched today, check our FAQ page for more delivery details. I dont think Greece will have a Digital TV service, but it will be able to pick up analogue signal there no problem.

Easycom: It would not require an internet connection to work as it doesnt stream TV over the internet, it has an antenna which picks up the signal like any other TV.

Easycom: These are universal products designed to work with all laptops, as long as you have a USB port

Easycom: It doesnt have a built in one, but this will work with it. As the 7112 has XP Media Center a normal Media Center remote control will work with it. Some of our other TV tuners come with a remote control.

Easycom: Yes it will work, but it doesnt include a remote. If you use Windows XP Media Center of Vista then you can use a Media Center remote control with it.

Easycom: Yes, there will need to be a TV licence at the property of the owners home address, although the owner can take it and use it wherever they want. It will work with a Toshiba on XPP.

Easycom: The HVR series are all Hybrid tuners which means they can pick up analogue or digital TV.

Easycom: Sometimes you wont be able to pick up a signal from indoors, it depends on the building. In this instance you would have to use an external aerial.

Easycom: Yes the tuner could work in car but I don’t think it is good idea to watch TV while driving.

Easycom: You do need a TV license to watch TV broadcasts however, a portable tuner like this falls under your home license so you only need the one license.

Easycom: Both of the TV tuners take an aerial signal input which can come from any device. The TV HVR comes with a mobile aerial while the Nova-T does not.

Easycom: This does have radio, and is powered by the laptop so doesn't need an external power supply. There isn't a teletext function.

Easycom: The reccommended specifications for this product are a 2GHz CPU. The Dell inspiron 1525 has a dual-core at 2GHz which will be more than enough.

10-Mar-2008 john williams: I am thinking of getting a Toshiba Satellite Pro L40-15E. With the Hauppauge Win TV HVR 900 will I be able to get English tv in germany? If so which channels? bbc,itv etc.

Easycom: BBC and ITV are unlikely to be received in Germany using the WinTV. A better option would be to look at the SlingPlayer, which allows you to stream your UK-based TV (Sky, BBC, etc) over the Internet to wherever you may be in the world. Requires UK-based TV and hardware though.

Easycom: It works fine with Vista Business, just not via Media Centre (media centre isn't required for this to work).

Easycom: Unfortunately the only WinTV USB tuner we sell that features phono outputs is the analogue one (product code 566). This is because the PC itself decodes the digital signal, and does not output the audio signal back through the USB tuner. You could use the headphone output from your laptop with a headphone-to-phono (dual RCA) cable.

Easycom: No there isn't however you can record straight to your laptop hard drive. We don't offer a USB device for this, however you may be interested in the Slingbox device (product code SB150-110).
