The Vigor3100 series is a Router/Firewall for G.SHDSL broadband supporting speeds up to 2.3Mb/s. The Vigor3100 builds on the strong pedigree of DrayTeks ADSL and Broadband routers.
The Vigor3100 on SDSL is ideal for VPN or Server hosting where upstream speed is just as important as downstream. Regular ADSL has a typical upstream speed of only 0.25Mb/s, regardless of your downstream speed (up to 8Mbs) - this makes VPN operations such as PC remote access or SQL server access slow as your branch office or Teleworker can receive data at a maximum of 256Kb/s (even less after overheads and contention). With SDSL, upstream speeds are the same as downstream, so a 2Mb/s SDSL line can transmit data to remote users at 2Mb/s.
