12-May-2008 Miniblob: Hi there, Can you tell me what speed the intel mobile processor runs at please? Also, how much of the 12GB is remaing free after the standard windows/etc installation??

Easycom: The Intel Mobile CPU in the EEE PC 900 runs at 900MHz. The XP installation is around 2gb.

13-May-2008 giorgio: The battery in this product is the 4400 mAh or 5800 mAh model?

Easycom: These EEE PCs come with 2.6AH batteries as standard.

13-May-2008 David Bluett: I have read in a review in PC Advisor that the Eee PC 900 must be manually set to the correct encryption type and that it does not remember which network it connects to and its password. So, at every boot, you must type in all details again. In my case that would mean having to type a 26 character wep key each time I connect to my Wi-Fi at home. Is this true ? Does this problem apply to just the Linux version or to the XP version as well ?

Easycom: This issue has a simple fix - In the Wireless settings, change the MODE box to INFRASTRUCTURE from AUTO. REPEAT INFRASTRUCTURE. This keeps the settings regardless of encryption type.

20-May-2008 Mike: What DC voltage range does the ASUS EEE PC 900 run from. I want to know if I can make up a lead to re-charge from a car socket. I want to be ultra-portable.

Easycom: Car power supplies have huge spikes and surges, so you would need some kind of adapter, I would recommend visiting the eeeuser forums and see if the people over there have a solution.

7-Jun-2008 Ivan: If you need to re-boot it, how is it done (would I need to have an external CD drive via USB) ?

Easycom: You would need an external CD drive, or a shared network drive to access CD-ROM material.

20-Jun-2008 richard: can you use aexternal hard drive with this laptop

Easycom: Yes, absolutely! Any USB hard-drive or flash-drive will work fine with any EEE PC model
