WD Sentinel DS5100 is an enterprise-level storage server, providing unified storage with NAS and iSCSI. It uses up to four 3.5-inch datacenter-class WD Se hard drives and integrated data protection with either RAID or Windows Storage Spaces.

Enterprise Redundancy
WD Sentinel DS5100 offers enterprise redundancy, with RAID or Windows Storage Spaces, for up to four 3.5-inch datacenter hard drives. It also offers  dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, a second power supply and and Dual Boot Drives (in auto RAID 1).
 
WD Sentinel DS5100 offers dual/redundant external DC-in power supply ports, so in the event of a power surge or other damage to the internal power supply, the second power supply takes over. This provides small businesses with the added peace of mind knowing that their server will remain operational.
 
Drive/bezel lock for theft deterrence
The drive/bezel lock and security lock slot of the WD Sentinel DS5100 are included for theft interference and deterrence.

It utilizes the latest Active Directory single sign-on and associated single sign-on to assign and enforce security policies for all computers, so when a user logs into a computer that's part of a Windows domain, Active Directory checks the submitted password and determines what data the user is able to access.
