the stand will support the weight. It is only reccomended for 32 inch because of the width of the stand. the main reason is because the body of larger tvs may over hang the edge of the stand. Some people do not like this. check the width of your tv to see whether it will or not. but if you're not bothered then it is fine

it will take it but the body of the TV will over hang the stand. check the width of your tv against the width of the stand. a large tv on a small stand can look a bit silly
