REDcatch ImageVector Mono UAV

The 3D ImageVector Mono UAV upgrade kit is suitable for any open-system drone that can carry and trigger a conventional camera with ISO hot shoe. It is ideal for upgrading an existing UAV or building up a custom drone.

The device contains a high-quality single-channel GNSS receiver (GPS + GLONASS) and optional IMU for measuring the location and orientation of image centres, which makes it possible to produce scaled, georeferenced 3D models directly from images. This reduces or eliminates the need for ground control points in many applications and saves you hours on your 3D modelling or mapping projects! Common distortions to the 3D model, such as bending at the edges, are also reduced.

The Mono UAV is triggered by camera’s ISO hot shoe, making it compatible with all high-end consumer and professional cameras. Depending on the drone, power is either provided by an existing on-board 5V supply or from a small independent battery pack. Please ensure that you select the battery option if no 5V supply is available on your UAV.

The Mono UAV is extremely compact and lightweight, which minimises payload and maximises flight time. It is well suited to a wide variety of applications including surveying, infrastructure, architecture, archaeology, geology, mining, volume calculations and 3D mapping.

The REDtoolbox geotagging software is included with the Mono UAV, making it quick and easy to geotag images and begin processing in the photogrammetry software of your choice, including Agisoft Photoscan and Pix4D Mapper.

*Note that the 3D ImageVector Mono UAV requires RINEX data to operate at maximum accuracy. This data can be collected with your existing base station or by using a download service. Alternatively, the REDcatch Base Station Mono can be purchased separately.
