Yes, it has a my documents folder or equivalent although you can set up new folders practically anywhere you want to store media of that type. A solid state drive is a more stable device for storing data. It doesn't use the needle and disc method and so is safer when it comes to bumps and travel.

It does come with office loaded on. The linux version does come with open office but the XP version needs office installing. No DVD with this model, they leave them off netbooks to keep the weight and size down.

Yes it comes with XP, you would need an external optical drive to play DVDs though.
