Questions & Answers

04/12/2009 Kaisersuzae: hi there,

i have had the tv on a tv mount and now want to put it on a tv stand but i have misplaced the tv tabletop stand. i wish to purchase a replacement - where can i get this.

jeremy: Sorry but Finlux now only distribute TVs via euronics centres. You will have to contact Euronics to try and get this

09/08/2008 tlrdave1000: Hi we have just bought the 37in finlux and were having problems we cant watch it for more than 10 min because the picture is out of focus, even when we play a DVD it is still out of focus, the screen is all blured when the camera shot moves around what is the problem and how do we sort it out.

Thanks David Hutton

Easycom: Please contact our customer service team for further assistance.

05/08/2008 irene: Your techincal spec says the 37" Finlux has 2x analogue tuners? I thought this had digital Freeview on board? Maybe I don't understand. Also, what will football matches look like on this, just running freeview, until I can afford to go to HD. I mean will there be any motion blur, and if so is there anything like a sport setting that would compensate? Thanks

Easycom: this has both analogue & digital tuners. to try and reduce motion blur you need to look at a set that has 100hz refresh

11/07/2008 chris: Just bought one and the quality is superb. Running through a V+ box (had to call Virgin to get it to reboot in HD mode, but no problem really), I reckon it's second to none after extensive research (ie an hour in Currys). Don't believe the review by PCPro - colour saturation can be changed easily, then it looks great.

Easycom: thanks for the comments

10/05/2008 simon: Is the inbuilt digital tuner capable of receiving a HD signal from freeview or is it only a standard definition tuner?

Easycom: Freeview does not carry HD stations yet - When this is implemented, you will need a Freeview HD box. Integrated DVB-T tuners are SD only.

19/04/2008 Josh C: Does this tv support Dolby 5.1 surround sound?

Easycom: This TV has outputs for the digital freeview, but if you wish to connect other devices to your TV such as consoles etc. you should connect the audio from these devices directly to your home cinema / amplifier.

10/04/2008 James: Hi, im after a new tv, wall mountable, I have been thinking about the finlux 37" 1080p and the Samsung 37" 1080p and will be sat about 8 feet away from it, I will only be using free view, Xbox 360 and dvd's, will this be over the top for what I need?? Also would a Plasma be better for what im viewing, I will be looking at upgrading to HD in about 3 years, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Easycom: OK, Max size TV I would go for would be 37 inch, anything bigger will look pixelated. as to going for plasma or LCD, LCd is best for well lit rooms as you don't get any reflection off the screens. If you room is darker then go for plasma, but you can't get a 1080p plasma at 37 inch. If you are going to switch to High def then you're best off going for a Samsung, or if you can afford, the new Panasonics, as they are both more versatile than the Finlux. If money is an issue go for the Finlux as you get a lot for your money

08/04/2008 Richthebadger: Great Product, have connected to V+ and Xbox 360, be aware though, through Component connected to the 360 it can only view 1080i and 760p, 1080p is only supported through HDMI.

Easycom: thanks

01/04/2008 JebusFG: what would this tv be like for watching blueray movies & also what surround sound output does it have?
thanks

Easycom: yes its good with Blu-ray, we have one setup in our showroom. 10 watts per channel output

31/03/2008 Richthebadger: Hi
I'm very interested in this set, only worries on these, I’m stuck with V+ and will be for a while, I have Sky Sports and Setanta to watch football, I don't get the HD service through Virgin and I heard most LCD produce ghosting for events like football, how does this TV cope with action like sporting events and would I be better off with a set which has 100Mhz Progressive (Something like the Samsung M/N series?). It would also be used for Xbox 360, DVDs and SD viewing on Virgin.

Easycom: Ghosting is caused by poor signal and low resolutions. In reality the only way to greatly counteract ghosting would be to go for a 37 inch plasma like the new Pansonics, as it is a problem that plasmas don't realy suffer from

26/03/2008 hen54: is this tv brand new and boxed??

Easycom: yes it is

20/03/2008 Drusy: I would just like to praise this TV and the delivery time was spot on. We are blown away by the quality, and we haven't yet switched to HD reception or player, just bog standard Sky. I would like to ask if there is a screen saver or a facility to listen to just the sound, in order to prevent ghosting when listening to digital radio on Sky?

Easycom: the only way to do this would be to have it all connected via a surround system. this way you could have the TV turned off but still get the sound

15/03/2008 Tony W: I Have connected my amp into the tv but when I turn on the dvd the sound from the hi fi speakers stays with the broadcast channel and not the dvd, Can I correct this or do I have to keep changing the connectors from the dvd back to the tv,can you help???

Thanks

Easycom: Obviously the amp will only play the channel that is conected to it. It all depends on the model of your surround system as to what it can do

11/03/2008 Johno: I'm looking for a TV approx 32" upto 37" for around £550 is this the pick of the bunch?

Easycom: for the spec of TV yes

07/03/2008 Tom: I don't have a TV licence and want a screen to use with a DVD player and a games console. Is it possible to detune the digital tuner on this TV as you would an analogue tuner so that it can officially *not* receive TV transmissions, so that I can avoid needing a TV licence?

Easycom: any devise, that is capable of receiving a TV signal requires a TV licence. This even applies to vhs & DVD recorders. your only option is to buy a large PC monitor

04/03/2008 Alex: Does this TV have a HD COMPONENT port?

Easycom: yes

16/02/2008 chantelle: if i connect my stereo to the tv and my ps3 to the tv when i want to use the ps3 would i hear the normal tv sound coming through at the same time as the ps3.

Easycom: no because you'll have to sellect an AV channel for the ps3??

12/02/2008 yiddo007: hi is the finlux 37" 1080p definantly 15000-1

Easycom: no its 6000:1 as per the web

08/02/2008 Gary: Does the finlux have an optical audio output

Easycom: no

07/02/2008 Steve: Please could you tell me whether the xbox360 would be better running on this model with 1080P or on one of the other models running at 1080i?

Easycom: it depends on the game but always go for the higher spec TV

04/02/2008 Mo123: I want to use this for my Home Theatre PC and I have an nvidia 8800GT GFX card which only has DVI connections, my questions are:
1 ) Is the the TV's "Pc Connection" DVI or a VGA ?
2 ) If the ansewr to 1 is VGA then can I use a HDMI to DVI converter to display content from PC?

Easycom: standard pc input is vga but you can use one of the hdmi ports if you want

31/01/2008 Mike: Iwasv interested in purchasing a Samsung LE37R87BDX fromyou & then noticed the Finlux37FLH760 at the same price. Not being familiar with the Finlux brand & that I will be viewing TV via the freeview facility as well as watching DVDs which set would be more appropriate?

Easycom: It all depends on what you may be watching in the future. If you are planning to watch any High Definition TV, or films, in the future, you will be better off with the Finlux as it is a full 1080p panel, 1920x1080 resolution. ( you will also get deeper blacks even though it has a lower dynamic contrast ratio). If you are looking for a more flexible TV, more connections for gaming, picture zoom, more wall mounting options, then go for the Samsung. (although it does have greyer blacks then the Finlux). If you can, come to our showroom as we have them both on display

23/01/2008 SJB: One response from Easycom states that the panel does not support 24fps - does this mean it doesn't support PAL? Does it only support NTSC? What does UK Sky broadcast in - is this not PAL 24fps? Thanks.

Easycom: PAl is broadcast in 25fps. 24fps technology has no baring on watching TV on a day to day basis. 24fps is the format that films are shot in, therefore to get the true movie experience, you will benefit from a TV that can display at 24fps. You must bare in mind that 24fps only works with pre recorded films.

18/01/2008 hyundyman: does this set surport 24fps

Easycom: no

17/01/2008 John: Hi there, whithin this thread it states that the contrast ration is 15000:1 but then someone else says its 6000:1. Which one is it? Thanks!

Easycom: we have had issues with the manufacturer over the Dynamic contrast ratio. Dependent upon the panel the Dynamic ratio will change, currently it is 6000:1. But to get a true indication of the picture quality you have to look at the relationship between the brightness, cd/m, and standard contrast ratio and the quality of the panel used. A high dynamic contrast ratio does not necessarily mean that you will get deaper blacks. When you look at the contrast of the equivelant Samsung, if you strip back the dynamic ratio to a standard ratio, you will see that they are about the same. Look at bothtogether and you will not be able to see any difference. if you look at the SonyKDL37P3020, with a dynamic ratio of 8000:1, it has a much greyer picture than the Finlux because it is a lower spec panel with a lower resolution

16/01/2008 Matt: Hi, on one spec you state contrast ratio @ 6000:1 and the other @ 15000:1 - which is correct?

Easycom: 6000:1

15/01/2008 Matthew: Where is your closest store/shop to Battersea? i want to come in to look at this particular TV

Easycom: our store is in west yorkshire

14/01/2008 ben: I bought this last week, and its fabulous. Looks brilliant and the quality is outstanding! Thanks guys.

Just a slight problem, Ive connected it to my surround sound, and the only output that gives is of the Digital tv channels. So when im on the PS3 and turn the surround sound on, I hear what ever channel the freeview is on. help!? thanks

Easycom: this will all depend on the quality of your home cinema but the normal route would be to connect your PS3 to your home cinema via the optical audio on the PS3

11/01/2008 malcolm: How does the picture compare to Sony KDL37P3020U 37 Inch - KDL37P3020U which has lower res but Bravia engine - what are the benefits of each comparatively?

Easycom: far superior picture and sound to the Sony. We have both sets on display if you want to compare them

10/01/2008 kaiser: does a wall mount come with the finlux 37flh760

Easycom: yes it does

09/01/2008 Sarah: what hz does this tv run at? Thanks

Easycom: 60hz

09/01/2008 Kaiser: Does this come with a wall mount

Easycom: yes

07/01/2008 asdadsasd123131232321: does this come with a one year warranty and is there free delivery

thanks

Easycom: it does come with a 1 year warranty but we do not offer free delivery

02/01/2008 Ben: My car is a Kia Picanto! (actually its my mums car!)
Cant afford my own!
Just that I saw a 42" been moved around Curry's the other day, and the box was huge! Hoping i can a 37 in the car, as i live in Bradford and don't wanna cough up an extra £25!
thanks for your help

Easycom: the dimensions are W930 x H675 x D250mm, these are out of box dimensions add about 120mm per dimension for the box size. I would think it would go in your car out of the box

02/01/2008 cozey666: Can you tell me the dimensions for the 37" finlux 1080p

Easycom: 930mm x 675mm x 250mm

01/01/2008 martin: Ive been wanting a hdtv to play my blu-ray player and have been looking for ages, and for a 37inch 1080p the starting price is about £750, And this price is so low is it alot worse than all the other makes, as this price is so cheap. Its so cheap the price is putting me off, incase its not up to standard. Please help

Easycom: This TV is on display in our showroom. The quality is comparable with Samsung or LG, but because it is a relatively unknown brand, they cannot demand the higher prices of the better known brands. this also shows up the real cost of manufacturing a TV of this spec.

01/01/2008 Ben: This TV comes with a 1 year warranty, If I were to get the 2 year warranty bundle would it total to be a 3 year warranty?!
and, Im planning on coming up for one of these at the weekend, how big is the box? got a small car you see!
thanks for the help

Easycom: the 2 year extension takes it up to 3 years in total. what car do you have?

01/01/2008 Jordan Willis: I have just ordered this tv. Just to clarify how can you be sure that this item is 15000:1, and not 1500:1? The price is just so unbelivably low! Thanks
Jord

Easycom: the dynamic contrast ratio is 6000:1

31/12/2007 Steve Coates: What is the width, height and depth and what is the best stand to buy for either the 42 or the 37 inch as i am undecided which to buy?

Easycom: go for ZIN421455/BKI will fit both

31/12/2007 Sweeney: What is this tv like playing xbox 360?
As good as some of the samsung, sharp at same price or better with the 1080p it has? does it make a big difference?

Easycom: this set is far better than the equivelent priced samsung or toshiba because of the 1080p panel

31/12/2007 Ian: What are the physical dimensions of this TV please

Easycom: 930mm x 675mm x 250mm

31/12/2007 Malcolm: How would the picture compare to Sony Bravia when viewing standard TV/Sky signals and DVD (not gaming etc)?

Easycom: depends on the model of Sony.

29/12/2007 DH: We can't get digital yet - will it display the old analogue signal OK?

Easycom: as long as you have decent reception. the picture quality will depend greatly on the quality of your aerial

28/12/2007 LDG: Does the PC/VGA input support incoming 1080p resolutions?

Easycom: yes it does

25/12/2007 bopper: Hi, what TV has better picture quality in 720p mode and standard def (ie for sky etc) - this or the Samsung LE32R87BDX?

Easycom: the Finlux because it has a higher contrast ratio, so has deeper colour ratios

16/12/2007 Mark: Hello could you please explain what is the FULLPIX digital picture engine, does this do upscaling?
Many Thanks

Easycom: FullPIX Contrast engine simply expands the color range. Televisions will not actually produce the pure black and white, but shades that use very clear and very dark gray. FullPIX Contrast Engine expands this range of gray, so that the black is almost pure black and white, almost pure white. Modify the overall saturation of the image acting independently in 6 regions of color: red, green, blue, cyan, magenta and yellow.
Adapts to shine, with a special emphasis on the important areas of the image and strengthen the sense of depth.

13/12/2007 Tom: Looking at the Finlux website, this TV is only 1500:1 contrast ratio.
Who;s wrong!?

Easycom: that is because the Finlux site is out of date our spec is correct

11/12/2007 Ben: Does this TV have audio (phono) out to connect it to my surround sound?
...and will there be a January sale? :P !!!

Easycom: we will be having a Jan sale but whatis in it wil depend on what we have in stock

02/12/2007 sarah: does this tv have picture in picture,i like footie the kids don't,so with that we both win.Went looking yesterday, and a lot of sales staff told us,that even if it says it does in the description,it dosen't mean that it will.thanks.

Easycom: yes it does. We have one on display and have had it showing PIP

01/12/2007 adam: hi does this telly have 1080p24 support

Easycom: Yes it does.

29/11/2007 ms s foley: I understand this tv has 1080 pixels! what is the difference between this tv and the 32" is it as good or not?

Easycom: The 37" offers full 1080p HD resolution which is the highest resolution currently available. The 32" version doesnt support 1080p but does support the 1080i format.

24/11/2007 Mark: Hello, does this tv have progressive scan.

Many Thanks,
Mark

Easycom: all hd ready TVs have progresive scan. Do you want to know if it is 1080 progresive, if so yes it is

24/11/2007 tia: i have virgen cable will the picture quality be like running through it

Easycom: the picture quality will only be as good as the quality of signal going into the set. so the better the signal the better the picture. This is a 1080p set so will automatically have a very high resolution

24/11/2007 adam: does this tv produce true blacks

Easycom: With a 6000:1 Dynamic Contrast this television offers a high colour definition across the colour spectrum.

24/11/2007 ad: what would i need to bring along to buy this tv on buy now pay later eg,passport bill.

Easycom: Please call us to discuss finance terms and conditions.

24/11/2007 steve: could you please tell me what quality the speakers are on this tv
or what you would recommend for a tv with good sound quality
in this prce range

Easycom: it comes with 2x10watt speakers offering SRS Trusurround sound

24/11/2007 Davy: Hi Can you tell me if this comes with the same 4 year warranty like the 32 has

Easycom: No it comes with a 1 year warranty, however we do offer extended warranties.

21/11/2007 finlux 37 inch 1080p: whats the picture like compared to sony rivals there is also a samsung with simular specs

12/11/2007 john: bought this tv last week from huddersfield collection point, excellent value for money, great instore help, thanks very much!!!

Easycom: Thanks

11/11/2007 Benhowe: Hi. Could you tell me the quality of the picture when displaying a standard sky signal as I would use the set for both playstation3 and standard sky. I have read many reviews on other sets and have read that some sets display a standard sky signal badly with jaggedness and blurring. Cheers
Ben

Easycom: This would display Sky fine.

Easycom: Yes.

06/11/2007 MRA: What is the response time of this panel.

06/11/2007 mart1602: What is the response time for this panel?

Easycom: The response time is 8ms

05/11/2007 charlie: when i switch to sky digital what sort of picture quality will i have and is it digital ready, whats hd1080p

Easycom: This television features full HD 1080p and a very high dynamic contrast ratio and so will offer a very good picture when connected to sky HD. For more information on the different types of HD including 1080p please visit http://www.hdtvorg.co.uk/focus/resolution.htm

04/11/2007 walter: never heard of finlux, are they any good, looking for a 40-42 inch tv wall mountable preferably 1080, see acer, teco, atec etc whats the best quality picture and quality build, thanks walter

Easycom: The finlux have a very good build and picture quality at a fraction of the price of the more known brands. If you after that sort of size why not have a look at a plasma instead of an LCD television.
