also the description mentions doulbe memory how much would this affect the performance

SteveF: Its pretty similar between the two, Linux takes up less hard drive but performance is around the same. The double memory offer is in relation to ram. This netbook will take 1.5 GB and has 1GB fitted. The more ram, the quicker the netbook will work.
