You need to check how many licenses your edition of Microsoft office allows. If its one then you need to buy it again.

Vista is the operating system (software than runs the computer). Microsoft office is a software package that included word and excel and does need to be bought separately.

It should be fine as long as it meets all the requirements of whatever software you plan to use. I would recommend a high quality exteral sound card though.

You can run as many programmes as you want. However for heavier programs like if you run more than one heavy games at a time then it may affect the performance of the system.

Although it is a good all round laptop the one area it lacks spec is the graphics card which is integrated. have a look for something with a dedicated graphics card such as an Nvidea or a ATi.

(Not enough room here) Vista is an operating system, which means you click on icons instead of writing code to get the laptop to do what you want it to do. Office is a software program which runs in the operating system and yes it is compatible with both XP and Vista.
