Easycom: These discs are intended to restore the laptop software to an as-new condition. In this case, that is restoring back to the Vista OS. XP driver support for the 5920G is available from Acer at acer.co.uk

SteveF: You can burn a disc yourself and as long as we have the laptop in stock, we should be able to burn one for you after the fact if needed.

SteveF: Some do, some don't. Its all a bit random. We'd usually recommend buying one with the laptop just in case. It can save a lot of money and time later on.

11-Dec-2008 TC: I have just purchased 3 off Acer Aspire 2920 with the Acer recovery discs LX.ANKOX.193. Will any of the discs match any of the laptops or are they specific ? There seems to be no particular ID on the discs and they were bundled separately from the laptops. The laptops are identical apart from serial numbers

David J: The recovery dvds are relevant to the model number so any disc can be used with any of the laptops you purchased

8-Sep-2008 Ram: My Sony Laptop VGN-CR23G/L has Some Problem ( It worked fine from past 1 year ) .... I my self turned off the laptop yesterday night and when I turned it back on and it tried to start up and got the green Microsoft vista progress bar for a few seconds, then a blue screen flashed up ... and the Laptop suddenly restarted. If i try to boot into safe mode it freezes while it lists the drivers its loading. I put in the recovery disk (Which was Given By SONY) , choose the language and click on Repair Windows. The next dialog box is called System Recovery Options. I have selected the C drive and then click next.. After few seconds a pop up came stating system will try to restore previous settings .... on clicking RESTORE .... I can see a window which shows amp;quot; Attempting to Fix Errors ..... and the status bar is going on and going on from past 6 hours ...... Can you tell me whether this Product will solve my above problem ??????

Easycom: If you have already had a recovery disc from sony and it didn't work, I don't think another will help. It sounds like it needs looking at so I'd get hold of sony again.
