Easycom: This laptop is designed for ultra portability. In order to keep the size and weight to a minimum it is supplied without an optical drive. If you needed an optical drive as well you could purchase an external unit such as the LG GSA-E50N

8-May-2008 tsw8848: What is the battery life like please. I need a laptop of this sort of spec but with a good battery life for air travel which I do a lot!

Easycom: Depends entirely on use - If you're doing basic tasks such as internet surfing / IM / etc then the battery will last up to 3 hours.
