Question from alan: Asked on 16/08/2008 I have just purchased an Acer Aspire 7720, with Vista (Yuck).
Will this laptop talk directly to this router, or do I need some kind of adapter ?

My home network uses a cable modem, connected via USB to a desktop PC, and two more desktops, and the new Acer, connected to the first PC via a Belkin 5-port network switch (model FD5131).
What other hardware do I need to make the whole network wireless ?
There is an unused ethernet port on the modem.
Thanks for some advice and guidance.

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 18/08/2008
This router will connect with your modems ethernet port (disconnect the computer currently connected via USB). Once connected via ethernet, reset your modem (power off then on again) to 'authenticate' it with the router. Once this is complete, you can conenct your desktops to the router via Ethernet or Wireless (This router has 4 ports for computers, and you can connect as many wireless computers as you like). This means you will no longer need to use your Belkin 5-port switch. The Aspire 7720 has wireless networking integrated, so it will work with this router no problems at all :-)

Question from Gary: Asked on 30/03/2008 Hi, will this router allow me to run a printer from another room etc or will I need another type of router.

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 31/03/2008
That depends if your printer is wireless enabled or if it is connected to a PC that is on your network. If either of these are true, then you will be able to print remotely. Otherwise, you will need to buy a print server.

Question from Sam: Asked on 29/02/2008 We have a desktop which is not wireless and connect to broadband through Virgin Media (although using a telewest router). Would this product enable me to connect on a wireless laptop and also use the existing router to continue using the desktop PC? Is it easy to connect as there is only one free USB point free in the back of the router - is this okay?

Answer from Easycom: Answered on 11/03/2008
This will be fine as long as your cable modem has an ethernet port and not just a USB port. If your cabe modem is USB only then you will need to ask your ISP for an ethernet modem, which they should do free of charge. An ethernet modem will plug straight in to this wireless router and share out your internet connection.
