Question from christopher: Asked on 01/02/2009 hello, will the shared graphics card be able to cope with 3d design software?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 02/02/2009
No, I would go with a dedicated graphics card. 3D design work is one of the most intensive applications you can run on a computer so you need as much power under the hood as you can get.

Question from Robin: Asked on 28/01/2009 Would this laptop play older games like Halo 1 or freelancer or half life 2 etc... also is the USB bootable? can i boot from an usb flash drive with a varient on linux on it?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 28/01/2009
Porbally won't play ant games very well as it has a shared graphics card. Look for any model with a dedicate graphics card of 256mb or over and you'll be fine. Couldn't say about the booting. Not something I've done.

Question from Anita: Asked on 27/01/2009 doest it have 5 in1 card reader?

Yes it does.

Question from Drakonian: Asked on 22/01/2009 I am thinking of using this laptop in school and connect it to a interactive whiteboard. Will the fact that it has no dedicated graphics option hinder this?

Answer from David J: Answered on 22/01/2009
This should still be fine to connect to the whiteboard. The only thing that will be hindered with shared graphics is the ability for displaying 3D images
Answer from SteveF: Answered on 22/01/2009
It may slow the laptop down from time to time as it will use system resources for that job but it does support a resolution of 1440 x 900 which is good as the higher the res, the better the enlarged image will look on the board.

Question from julia: Asked on 11/01/2009 I am looking for a laptop to replace my desktop and am interested in this one. However my son has a game that has never worked on my desktop. It is command and conquer tiberium wars. It needs the following spec: Processor: vista 2.2GHz, 1GB RAM, HDD-6.0GB, 8 speed DVd, Video Card Vista 128MB, soudn direct x 9.0. Would this laptop play this game?

Answer from SteveF: Answered on 12/01/2009
The spec on that machine is great but it has an integrated graphics card so will struggle with most new games. Have a look for something that has a dedicated graphics card such as an Nvidea Geforce or ATi card with at least 128mb of dedicated memory.
